Inspired by the brotherhood of the Night's Watch, Take the Black Stout was made to be deep, dark and complex like those who have sworn the oath to defend Westeros against threats from the north. The label depicts the Weirwood tree where Jon Snow recited the oath before joining the Night's Watch.
How cool would it be to have a beer brewed specifically for you!?!
Well that's how this little gem of an IPA started out. It was brewed for the guys and gals over at Threadless Shirt Company...hey, way to boost office morale, right? Turns out everyone liked it so much they decided to make it a thing and brew it for the general populus!
We're sure a glad they did and decided to ship this "Windy City" bevy out to the Atlanta market so could pop the top on this Midwest style IPA.
Watch and see if this "Second City" brew was worth a second sip
We spent a few months directing traffic away from this website format in lieu of a newer format that was (What I thought/hoped) would be better. Welp...I was wrong. I often become creatively restless and tend to make rash decisions...changing the look and feel of the website was one of those decisions. We're back to posting all content on here and hopefully the next time I get the itch to catastrophically change everything...I get it right.
Make sure to also look for us on www.bevnerd.com!
in honor of Decembeard, we will donate 100% of the proceeds that we make from this shirt!

A few months ago, we entered a video in the Left Hand Brewing "Show us your Pour" contest and we won!!! We're going to GABF baby!!!! Huge thanks needs to go to our friends, family and fans that voted as well as the judging committee that picked us. Here is a description of the contest:
"Calling all beer-loving Scorsese wannabes: Round up your drinking buddies and a video camera and show us your coolest “hard pour” of Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro, and you could score 2 tickets (for 3 sessions) to the 2012 Great American Beer Festival. It’s simple: Grab a bottle of Milk Stout Nitro, record your craziest pour, and upload your video to Left Hand’s Facebook page for a chance to win. There is, of course, a proper way to pour the beer; Milk Stout Nitro should exit the bottle quickly and quite forcefully to properly release the nitrogen that gives the beer its creamy fullness. Watch the video above to see how it’s done, and watch Left Hand’s Chris Lennert break it down here. Get funny, get creative, but most of all, go hard!"
Here is our winning video:

What They Do
Each year, they stage unique, large-scale craft-beer appreciation/fundraising events across the country, working independently or in partnership with breweries and local organizations. their events run the gamut from open parties featuring huge assortments of rare, craft beers and an equally diverse – and off-beat – assortment of foods and entertainers to local chef beer-wine food pairing competitions, special craft-beer educational dinners and much more. BFBF events are all about having fun while supporting a worthy cause.
The money they raise currently goes to support the development of cutting-edge brain cancer research and treatment options at the new Barrow Brain Tumor Research Center (BTRC), in Phoenix, AZ. The BTRC is part of the Barrow Neurological Institute, one of the nation’s leading centers for brain tumor imaging, brain tumor surgery, cancer research and stem-cell science. Led by a team of clinical and scientific experts, the center runs brain tumor clinical trials and looks for ways to rapidly incorporate new scientific discoveries into patient treatments.
